National & Local Advocacy & Lobbying
The Canterbury Employers' Chamber of Commerce is consistently working behind the scenes to influence the business environment to promote our members' interests. This includes submissions, active pursuit of issues and media campaigning where the environment is not supportive of sustainable and profitable business.
We regularly poll our members and ensure that your views are put to politicians and opinion-leaders.
In the context of local government, the Employers' Chamber ensures that all city and district councils in our region are aware of the voice of business. This includes submissions on councils' draft annual plans, draft strategic plans and on vital infrastructure issues such as transport, water, sewage and waste management.
We also ensure that central government is aware of its impact on business and ensure that the voice of business is heard by cabinet, parliamentarians and central government agencies whenever it is needed. With the Employers' Chamber, Business NZ and NZCCI have a team of experts that will ensure your voice and the voice of New Zealand business is always heard.
