Regional Relationships

We have branches in Ashburton and on the West Coast.  These members have access to the full range of services available to Christchurch-based members in the areas of employer support , industry sector support - including international trade and manufacturing - business advice and membership networking events and training and development.

Regional membership is offered at a discounted rate

 

The branches host regular briefings, seminars, and networking functions in each region in association with other local agencies to ensure maximum possible participation of local business.

The branches will work actively to grow the Employers’ Chamber membership in their respective regions and Membership Services Executives from the Christchurch office visit the regions regularly.

Ashburton Chamber of Commerce

 

The Ashburton Chamber of Commerce branch was established in June 2000. 

 

The accumulated funds in reserve from the former Ashburton Chamber of Commerce Inc. are earmarked specifically for Chamber initiatives in the Ashburton region. Interest income accruing on these funds is also committed to regional activities.  Secretarial and other services are delivered from Christchurch.

West Coast Chamber of Commerce

 

This branch was launched in June 2000.

 

The branch has a Committee comprising representatives from Greymouth, Hokitika and Westport:

  • Vince and Mary Wallis, Vincent Wallis Plumbers and Drainlayers (Westport)
  • Peter Campbell, Campbell and Associates (Westport)
  • Bryan Smith, Wilding Smith and Co (Hokitika)
  • Gavin Davy, Tasman Tyre Treads Ltd (Greymouth)

Secretarial and other services are delivered from dedicated staff based in Christchurch who work closely with other business support agencies on the Coast such as the West Coast Development Trust and GROW, in the delivery of services such as functions and seminars, and lobbying on members’ behalf.
