Regional Partnership Programme

The Canterbury Regional Partner Programme was launched earlier this year – bringing New Zealand Trade and Enterprise and the Ministry of Science and Innovation funding and expertise to aid business growth.

The following three services are available to businesses in the region, through the Employers’ Chamber and the Canterbury Development Corporation in Christchurch:

  • Global Expert - a fast, confidential search that connects businesses to experts to help solve technical and market-related challenges.
  • R&D Funding through TechNZ - if your business is developing or improving your products or services there are funds available to help your business grow through R&D.
  • Capability Development Funding throught NZTE - running a successful business demands a wide range of skills and knowledge - and those skills can make the difference between success and failure. See below for more information.

Capability Development Funding through NZTE

Through NZTE’s Capability Development programmes, we can assist with identifying your business’ unique management needs, and potentially support you financially with addressing those needs.
Where needed, we can issue Capability Development vouchers which:

  • Can be used for training workshops, courses, and business coaching
  • Are available to owners, operators and key managers
  • Can cover up to 50% of the cost
  • Can be issued up to $5,000 per business per year.

Vouchers can be redeemed with a wide range of registered providers, for training in areas such as business planning, marketing, finance, business systems, staff management, governance, sustainability, lean manufacturing, business operations, and exporting.

To qualify for a voucher, you must be GST registered, privately owned or a Maori Trust, and have fewer than fifty full time employees.
