A key focus of the role will be the evolution of our services to be responsive to the changing environment, alongside the creation of new products and services to meet changing needs.

Reporting to the General Manager and working closely with the Business Advisory and Consulting manager and Membership Sales Manager, this leadership role will work with a skilled and experienced team to discover new ways of delivering value through clever design and delivery of Chamber services as well as a chance to make your mark in the development of new products and services to meet identified needs.

This leader will be customer focussed, understand the needs of business and will be highly motivated to find ways to deliver significant value.


Key areas of responsibility include:

  • Working with the Membership Manager to drive new business opportunities to extend our reach, maximise Member engagement and drive revenue generation
  • Working with the Business Advisory and Consulting Manager to develop systems to create stronger connections and cross selling between all business service areas
  • Leading the team to review our current offering and delivering a cohesive programme of services
  • Using market intelligence and our own customer data to evolve current and develop new products and services to meet changing customer needs and to create a strong point of difference for The Chamber
  • Spotting opportunities to partner with others in the business community to leverage the value we can collectively bring
  • Using technology and data effectively to inform decisions and create efficiencies
  • Ensuring that we continue to understand our business community and their needs and deliver to these consistently
  • Working across the team to ensure a consistently positive customer experience
  • Providing input into strategy and annual operational planning
  • Meeting set targets aligned with the strategy and budget
  • Working in collaboration with the BusinessNZ Network


The successful candidate will:

  • Have experience in design and development of products and services in a business setting
  • Be creative in designing experiences to grow capability, build networks, generate curiosity and deliver on key success measures for business customers
  • Be an experienced leader both of a team, and across a team
  • Be an excellent communicator with high integrity and well-developed relationship skills
  • Have a genuine interest in the business environment and understand the wider issues that impact on business success
  • Be able to express a vision clearly and effectively lead people through change
  • Thrive on working in a fast-paced environment with the ability to prioritise effectively
  • Some prior operational knowledge of learning and development and events is advantageous
