OLIVER HUNT

Founder & CEO
Medsalv

I’m the founder/CEO at an early stage medical device reprocessing company based in Christchurch. We serve the largest hospitals across New Zealand with the goal of making our health system more financially and environmentally sustainable.

Since we started in 2017, Medsalv’s work has been recognised nationally for leading the transition towards a circular economy, and as a business for good in Canterbury, bringing sector leading cost and waste efficiency to the health system.

My day to day role with Medsalv involves working with the many agencies that power the health sector, driving change at every level of New Zealand’s largest organisations - ranging from the Ministry of Health, Ministry for the Environment, to DHBs, Councils and other central organisations.

Prior to starting Medsalv, I completed a BE(Hons) in Mechanical Engineering, and Medsalv was started as a component of my M(Eng) in Management - both at the University of Canterbury.

I am super passionate about Canterbury as a great place to live, work and play - if I’m not at my desk you’ll likely find me mountain biking on the Port Hills, skiing the Craigieburns, or hunting waves somewhere on Banks Peninsula.

I’m excited to bring a unique perspective and my desire to create positive change to the Chamber, to help ensure it meets the needs of the Canterbury business community as we overcome the challenges brought by COVID.
