Prepare for Employment Law Changes

New Zealand’s employment relations landscape is set to change and as an employer – you need to be ready to adapt.

The first tranche of the Government’s proposed employment law reforms has been introduced and referred to the Education and Workforce select committee which will consider public submissions. (Submissions must be received by 30 March).

The proposed changes will enhance minimum conditions and strengthen the role of unions and collective bargaining. All workplaces will be affected to some degree and more significantly so by organisations involved or potentially involved in collective bargaining.

Make sure you are fully informed about these and other possible changes in the employment space later this year including:

  • Fair pay agreements
  • Pay equity
  • Holidays Act
  • ‘Hobbit law’ working group.

Paul Mackay, Manager Employment Relations Policy, BusinessNZ will provide an insightful overview of the proposed changes and the possible consequences for business.
