What is the member used directory for?

Our Business Canterbury Member Directory is an online listing of current Business Canterbury members who have chosen to be listed. It helps members connect with each other, promote their services, and build local business relationships. It’s a great way to showcase your business to other members and be part of a trusted network.

Who can view Business Canterbury member directory?

The Member Directory is publicly visible, so anyone visiting the Business Canterbury website can browse and search member listings. It’s designed to help promote our members and make it easier for other businesses, potential clients, and partners to connect with you.

Being listed means greater exposure for your business across Canterbury both inside and outside Business Canterbury membership.

Who can have a listing on the directory?

Only (paid) members are allowed to have a profile on our directory.

How do I update my listing in the Member Directory?

Key Contacts are able to access and update details through the member portal under Administration -> Update member directory listing.

Don't know who the key contact of your organisation is?

You can find this out in the ‘Membership’ information on your Portal Homepage.

What information is shown in the directory?

Each listing typically includes your business name, logo, contact details, website, a brief description, and your membership type.

Can I choose not to be listed?

Yes - if you'd prefer your business not to appear in the public directory, just let our team know.

Why isn’t my business showing up?

You may need to activate your online profile or your membership may be due for renewal. Contact us if you'd like us to check your account.

How can I connect with other members through the directory?

You can browse by category or search by name or keyword to discover potential collaborators, suppliers, or service providers.

Is there a cost to appear in the directory?

No. Directory listings are included as part of your Business Canterbury membership.

Can non-members be listed?

No, only active Business Canterbury members appear in the directory.

Can I advertise or upgrade my listing?

Yes. All members can upgrade their directory listing with a promotional block — a banner-style section where you can add images, promotional content, and public offers. You can update this anytime through your membership portal.

Visibility can also vary based on your membership level and Canterbury Trusted award status, with higher levels receiving more prominent placement.

You’re also welcome to create member-only offers visible to other logged-in members, and we offer a range of advertising options if you'd like to further boost your profile. Get in touch with us to explore what’s available.

Are there any format restrictions for my member directory listing?

Yes. To ensure a consistent and professional experience across the directory, please follow these guidelines:

  • Logo: Use a high-quality PNG or JPEG image, ideally sized at 450 x 140px.

  • Business description: Keep it concise - aim for around 500 characters to ensure readability.

  • Email address: You can choose whether or not to display a contact email.

  • Promotional block: You may include a headline, promotional message, link, and image. Promotional block guidelines can be found here

  • Promotional images: Should be 700 x 700px and under the specified file size (check your portal for current limits).
